How to feel good from the inside-out this summer

At long last, it’s here!

The days are long, the sun is burning high in the sky, and temperatures are soaring. After what felt like a never-ending winter, it’s wonderful to be outside again.

Everybody deserves to enjoy the summer. But for some, it’s an extra challenging part of the year. Long summer days mean wearing greasy sunscreen, spending longer hours away from the house, and, now, sweating underneath a mask.

For acne sufferers, the combination of these factors can be extremely uncomfortable. Even those lucky enough to not have to deal with acne may notice their skin is oilier and more unruly during the hotter months of the year.

Let’s step back for a moment. What exactly is acne?

Acne is an acute or chronic skin condition that causes pimples on the surface of the skin. Typically, it’s caused by an overproduction of sebum by the skin’s sebaceous glands. Because the sebaceous glands begin extracting sebum during puberty, this is a common age for people to experience acne. That said, it’s a condition that affects people of all ages. In fact, the occurrence of acne in adults is increasing: now 15% of adult women experience acne.

Acne presents as whiteheads, blackheads, or even cysts. Most typically, it appears on the face, but many people also suffer from acne on their backs, shoulders, or chest, seeing as this is where the body has the most sebaceous glands.

There are many myths related to the “cause” of acne. Acne has nothing to do with having dirty skin or wearing too much makeup. It’s hormonal.

But why do the sebaceous glands begin producing too much sebum in the first place? Well, there are a variety of factors, but hormones (androgens or estrogen) play the most significant role.

What can I do about my acne this summer?

The good news is that there are a variety of treatments for acne. The bad news is that it can be difficult parsing what actually works.

The vast majority of acne treatments are topical. This means that instead of addressing the root of the problem, which we’ve addressed as an internal process, many brands choose to instead use Band-Aid “solutions” on the surface of the skin.

The problem is that many topical products successful in the treatment of acne are otherwise bad for your skin. Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are the two most common ingredients for combating acne. Each of them is proven to be drying, and therefore aging, to skin.

Popular skincare brand Proactiv, for example, includes products that contain so much benzoyl peroxide it bleaches their customers towels.

So, is there a solution?

Yes! But it may not be what you’re expecting.

Long summer days mean that you cannot rely on products alone to keep acne at bay. Between the sweat and sunscreen applications, your pores are going to be clogged from the excess oil production. It can’t be avoided.

The solution, then, is to target the internal conditions that produce acne in the first place.

In 2016, Dr. Agnes P. Olszewski used her background in traditional medicine to found the Herborium Group, a company oriented around botanical therapeutics. Her company’s research on the origins of acne led them to create AcnEase®, an everyday supplement that is clinically proven to alleviate acne and Rosacea with herbal ingredients. AcnEase® comes from the knowledge of both Western medicine and traditional medicine practices from South America, Europe, and Africa.

AcnEase® is offered in mild, moderate and severe treatments, depending on the nature of your acne. It’s also formulated depending on your gender, which you can select while purchasing.

It contains absolutely no chemicals, especially not ones that prevent you from spending your day in the sun. Instead, it contains Gardenia Fruit, Houttuynia, Scierotium, Dandelion Root, Balsam Pear, and Leaf Mustard. Each of these herbs is known for its anti-bacterial and hormone balancing qualities. Together, they’re magic!

While treatment length varies depending on the severity of acne, most people see results in 7-10 days. In addition to significantly diminishing acne, the herbs in AcnEase® will also make skin look more clear and luminous, fade acne scars over time, reduce hair loss, and balance scalp oils. (This is because oil production on the scalp is also caused by hormones, which the herbs will help balance and manage.)

“I was a bit skeptical at first but a friend highly recommended this product after seeing great progress himself,” writes one Reviewer named Kevin, “after a few weeks or less, I saw tremendous results.”

Help! My mask keeps giving me acne.

While we’re grateful for the life-saving nature of masks, it can be challenging to wear something all day long that irritates the face and increases the production of acne.

Thankfully, AcnEase® has released an antimicrobial, anti-viral, water repellent mask.

The antimicrobial fabric stunts the production of bacteria, which, in turn, prevents the development of oily skin and acne. So you can leave the house feeling confident that you’re protecting those around you while also protecting your skin.

Even when wearing a breathable mask, it’s important to take mask breaks when you can (and you’re not near other people). This will give your skin a chance to breathe.

How do I start?

The only thing you need to determine first is the severity of your acne, and your age. This will determine the correct AcnEase® treatment plan for your concerns.

The treatments are divided into mild, moderate, and severe acne assistance.

From there, you begin the regime, and get on with your life! Unlike harsh chemicals, or worse, antibiotics, your AcnEase® treatment will not interfere with your day-to-day life.

That means you can get outside this summer feeling confident that you’re being healed from the inside out by clinically tested herbal medicine.

From there, be sure to wear sunscreen, stay mindful of COVID-19 regulations, and get ready to face the sun with your new, clear, skin!
